Budgie Toys No.210

Personnel & Equipment Carrier (U.S. Army)

Issued 1959-61    Length 104mm

Second of the three Personnel carriers was No.210 which was given a United States Army livery in brown with a white star decal on the bonnet (hood). As with the others the base and metal wheels were painted a similar colour and it was fitted with knobbly tyres.

The plastic canopy at the rear was a tan colour on these models which can be variable in tone.

The wording on the base was similar to the other Personnel Carriers when first issued and did not include 'A Budgie Toy'. Later these words were added but the US Carrier with this second type base is scarce. Some of these later models were issued with treaded tyres instead of the usual knobbly type.

The A1 type boxes without numbers carried '(U.S.Army)' on each end flap. There was no upgrade to numbered boxes.

No.210 Personnel & Equipment Carrier is not easy to find and mint models fetch a premium.
