During the years when Benbros sold the TV and Mighty Midget models their sales representatives and agents were provided with Sample Sets of un-boxed models for toyshop owners to view.

 

Most Sets had between fourteen and eighteen models carefully tied with string to a plain backing card with each model having its number added alongside. The boxes had different combinations of items grouped according to model numbers, from the early TV Series of horse-drawn models including the separate figures, to the chrome-plated Mighty Midget cars. The later specialist boxes were often smaller containing seven or eight models.

On the outside, the lidded boxes were paper-covered in plain red. The only identification was a small label at one end of the lid indicating what models were inside.

The Sample Sets are quite hard to find but do come up at auction from time to time.
