No.21b Oldsmobile Town Sedan was the first of two all-new models created by Budgie when under the ownership of Modern Products. It was added to the Budgie Miniatures collection in 1968 and was based on the Oldsmobile '98' 4-door Sedan. 

 

The Oldsmobile was a straightforward body and base design painted metallic gold without adornments. Although well finished, it lacked play-appeal compared to contemporary Lesney models which by this time included windows and even suspension on some models.

 

Metallic gold was the most common colour of the Oldsmobile with a glossy black base and black plastic wheels. The axles were in covered channels and the base lettering said 'Budgie Models', 'Oldsmobile Town Sedan', 'No.21' and 'Made in England'. 

 

A second small run of metallic blue was the only change to the Oldsmobile and this is a rare version.

 

No.21b was sold in blue 'Budgie Models' blister-packs and was also included in the 1968 triple blister-pack No.95 Town Set.

 

The Oldsmobile Town Sedan had a short life and was withdrawn when production ended in 1970.
