Dublo Dinky 065 Morris Pick-Up

Issued 1957-1960   1:76 scale   OO/HO gauge

Another working vehicle in the Dublo range was the Morris Pick-Up based on the popular Morris Oxford car. The Pick-Up was possibly not a common vehicle on British roads in the 1950's, so although it had some play value, it seems not to have been a popular model.

The Pick-Up was cast in one piece without the need for a base with the axles fitting though extensions to the body. It was always painted red with silver trim added to the grille, headlights and bumper. Underneath the load-bed 'Dublo Dinky Toys' was cast with 'Meccano' added under the bonnet and 'Made in England' inside the cab roof. Unlike earlier models, there was no model name added.

Only one type of wheel, smooth grey plastic, was fitted to the Morris. It was issued in the standard yellow end-flap Dublo box with pictures on two sides.

Examples of the Morris Pick-Up are easy to find and often in mint condition.
