Budgie Miniatures
No.22b Cattle Truck
No.22b Cattle Truck was added to the range not long before production of Budgie Miniatures ceased in 1970. Although it was devised by adapting the die used for an earlier model (No.58 Modern Removal Truck) the ribbed sides and top ventilation apertures give the Cattle Truck an individual appearance.
No.22b Cattle Truck was probably not based on any particular make of vehicle although the design may have been adapted from a Guy or Thornycroft forward axle truck.
The model was issued in only one colour, pale brown, and did not carry any silver trim or adornements. The full-height rear door was dark-brown painted metal.
The base was a similar clip-fit type to the one used for the Removals Truck but now had 'Budgie Models Cattle Truck', 'No.22' and 'Made in England' cast on it.
The wheels were black plastic on rivetted axles.
There were no variations to No.22b.
Because of its short life, this is one of the rarest of the Budgie Miniatures. It was mostly sold in the US and only in blister-packs.
