This was the same model as A110 Low Loader & Field Gun but without the Gun. Benbros gave it a new number, A111, so it was clearly issued as a stand-alone item.

Oddly A111 Low Loader is often not included in lists of Qualitoy models, or is listed with an incorrect number, perhaps because it was not included in the illustrations on the multi-model boxes which Benbros used for all the Army issues. No catalogues were published by Benbros so the boxes provide the only available information about model numbers and names.

A111 Army Low Loader was an ex-Timpo model which Benbros upgraded by adding a ribbed floor to the trailer. The tractor unit was the same as that used on all the articulated models. Both were fitted with metal 6-bolt wheels with rubber tyres. There was no maker's id (Benbros eliminated the previous Timpo name) but 'Made in England' remained underneath the trailer.

A111 Low Loader was painted in a slightly matt army green including the metal wheels. Silver trim was added to the grille, headlights and front bumper, and a regimental square decal in red & yellow (which could be large or small in size) was put onto the nearside cab door.

As mentioned, A111 was issued in the multi-model box used for the Qualitoy Army items. On one of the end-flaps a blank panel was left for the model details to be added after packing, usually just the number A111.

The Army Low Loader is not a common model and mint examples in original A111 boxes are rare.
