The third of the hand guns made by Benbros under the Zebra Toys name was 'The Deputy' Repeater Gun. It was produced in either black (as illustrated on the box) or in shiny chrome.

Like the earlier hand guns, 'The Deputy' was a cap gun with the ability to 'fire' a roll of 100 caps which could be loaded inside. However, unlike the previous models, this gun had fewer moving parts and was a more straightforward toy. There was no revolving chamber and apart from opening to enable the roll of caps to be loaded, and having a trigger-spring mechanism, there were no other embelishments.

Perhaps to compensate for its simplicity, the red plastic stock on the handle was a bit more dramatic than the other guns and depicted a cowboy holding a smoking gun with a flying arrow narrowly missing his hat!

The colourful box carried a picture on both faces of a scene in a bar. The usual Zebra Toys black & white motif was included and on the sides '100 shot Repeater Gun' was added with a reminder to keep moving parts oiled! On the end-flaps, 'Benbros Ltd.' was printed.

As with the other Zebra Toys guns, 'The Deputy' is a rare item.
